You read that right. Most people are scared of the word fat if they’re trying to lose weight. Well here’s one of the best fat burning tips you should heed: You shouldn’t be if you’re trying to lose fat and get healthy.
There’s lots of misinformation about fats; let me try and shed a little light on the potential confusion for you, and try and convince you that you absolutely need to supplement with the right fats in your diet every single day. Some of the best fat burning tips are coming right up.
Essential Fatty Acids (EFA’s)
I’m going to excerpt a lot of what you’re going to read from Dr. Robert O. Young’s book, “Ph Miracle”, a highly recommended book. Another highly recommend book if you’re interested in delving even deeper into why EFA’s are absolutely essential to add to your diet is Dr. Udo Erasmus’s excellent book, “Fast That Heal, Fats That Kill” best-seller. Both are must-reads.
EFA’s are found in fish and seed oil, and include omega-3 and -6 fatty acids. Fatty acids are normal parts of all human cells, and are especially abundant in brain cells, nerve synapes, visual receptors. adrenal glands, and sex glands.
EFA’s are so important you might be deficient… and not even know it.
Here’s the real deal…
The highly processed foods we eat strip all of the EFA’s from our foods. Why? Anything that adds heat to the food – simply processing it, even cooking it – destroy’s the EFA’s found in that food. The reason is EFA’s are highly heat intolerant. This is why they always come in brown bottles (to shield them from the light) and must be kept refrigerated because just leaving it out at room temperature for a couple of days will make it go rancid.
Here’s a test for you, it’s not perfect, but for a lot of people it’s indicative of whether the amount of EFA’s you’re taking are sufficient. CHECK YOUR ELBOWS… if the skin is smooth and velvety, with no discoloration there at all (the skin should look exactly like the texture and color of the skin on your forearm) then you might be taking in enough EFA’s.
If it’s a little rougher and drier than the surrounding skin areas, then you’re likely EFA deficient. Obvioulsy, this doesn’t count if you add lotion to the area to artificially smooth it out. Evaluate your skin there without adding any lotions.
So, dry elbows = EFA deficiency. Here’s what you can do.
First, let me explain to you why EFA’s are so critically important for your health, and to help you lose fat. Let’s look at the omega-3 fatty acids first. The omega-3’s (EPA and DHA) help reduce toxins in your blood; they lower levels of repair proteins in the arteries. Repair proteins are also involved in the development of atherosclerosis, so lowering them is a double bonus.
Omega-3 fatty acids offer much more in the way of protection for the heart: They help disperse saturated fatty acids, which like to stick together, thereby avoiding lumps of fat in the blood that dampen electrical charges. They keep blood platelets from getting too sticky, resulting in lower likelihood of clots that can cause heart attacks or strokes. They lower triglycerides by up to 65 percent. They lower cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein (LDL – the bad cholesterol). They lower very-low-density lipoprotein (VLDL – the REALLY bad cholesterol) by half. High triglyceride levels, and especially LDL and VLDL, are associated with cardiovascular disease: high blood pressure, atherosclerosis, heart and kidney failure, stroke, and heart attack. Furthermore, our bodes make prostaglandin PG3 from EPA. PG3 helps prevent strokes and heart attacks, lowers high blood pressure (by blocking the production of pressure-raising PD2’s found in meat), and prevents pathological blood clotting in the lungs and blood vessels.
And if that’s not enough for you, animal studies have shown EPA and DHA to inhibit the growth and metastasis (the spreading of disease to other tissues in the body) of tumors.
EPA and DHA are found in cold-water fish and other northern marine animals. Trout, salmon, mackerel, sardines, tuna, and eel are the richest sources of omega-3 fatty acids. For those who wish to avoid animal products, there are plant sources for a precursor to EPA and DHA, another omega-3 called alpha-linoleic acid (ALA), including flax, hemp, walnut, and soybean oils. The body has to work to make EFA conversions like this one, which requires several stages, and in a weakened system it may be better to take the preformed (animal) omega-3’s.
Omega-6 fatty acids are found in the seeds of borage, primrose, sunflower, and black currant, as well as in fish oils. Gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) is the primary one.
Omega-3’s and -6’s have a wide range of health benefits. They can:
1. Lower blood pressure, blood cholesterol, and risk of stroke and heart attack.
2. Normalize fat metabolism in diabetes and decrease the amount of insulin diabetics require.
3. Prevent liver damage due to alcoholism, reduce withdrawal symptoms from quitting an alcohol addiction, and help with a hangover.
4. Contribute to building a prostaglandin that helps some schizophrenics.
5. Cause weight loss by increasing metabolic rate and fat burnoff.
6. Relieve premenstrual breast pain and PMS. Borage oil together with vitamins and minerals (https://m286.infusionsoft.com/saleform/niftrhnat) has been shown to bring improvement in almost 90 percent of patients.
7. Prevent drying and atrophy of tear and salivary glads (Sjogren’s syndrome)
8. Prevent arthritis in animal studies.
9. Improve the condition of hair, nails, and skin.
10. Improve some types of eczema.
11. Slow or stop the progress of multiple sclerosis, especially if begun soon after initial diagnosis.
12. Help treat nerve degeneration (diabetic neuropathy) in type II diabetes, when sugar and saturated fats are removed from the diet as well.
13. Kill cancer cells in tissue culture without harming normal cells.
Think this enough to start supplementing? Dr. Udo Erasmus invented the delicate process for extracing these delicate oils. I recommend his formula over others for this reason. Plus, he’s taken the guesswork out of it by combining all of the essential oils I’ve spoken of above, and combining them together in the proper ratios for optimal health and fat reduction. I highly recommend his blend. Don’t look at this as a cost. Because you’re either going to pay now, or later (through pain and suffering from disease or hospital bills). It’s your choice! Make sure you take at least 2-3 tablespoons of the blended oil a day. Don’t rely on capsules as it takes 14 capsules to equal 1 tablespoon of oil.
